This covers harvesting of logs provided by customer or logs purchased at Mesquite Beetle Mill and Workshop and limited chainsaw service (if significant chainsaw service is required, then Chainsaw Rates below will also apply). We can handle logs weighing up to 1200 Lbs, 11 feet long and 30 inches, Actual Cut is up to 22 Inches. Slab Orientation and Size is based on customer desires but Mesquite Beetle can assist with suggestions for best achieving the optimum cut.
Customers can assist with Milling and Handling Operations on a case by case basis and can reduce milling charges.
Depending on the type and size of log, additional Sawmill Blades may be required to ensure quality cutting as well as safe operation of the Sawmill. As a rule, the more Burl, wild grain, and inherent sand in Arizona Woods, Blade Effectiveness will be significantly reduced. But this also produces gorgeous slabs.
Also old logs tend to hide rocks and man made items like nails, screws, metal anchors and even horseshoes. Customer Inspection, Cleaning, and Bark Removal can help to mitigate wear and damage/cost of Saw Mill Blades.
Customers can assist with Chainsaw Operations on a case by case basis and can reduce Chainsaw Charges.
Customers can assist with Power Tool Setup and Handling Operations on a case by case basis and can reduce Power Tool Service Fee.
General access to most workshop tools, materials, and supplies for completing a single project with some limited guidance and oversight.
